I’m a Florida boy who was born to ride the waves and the boards. I grew up in St Augustine, the oldest city in the US, and learned how to be a leader and a team player in the Cub Scouts, Webelos, and Boy Scouts. I graduated from high school in 1983 and decided to serve my country by joining the US Army. I became a 19 Kilo Armor Crewman, which means I got to drive and operate tanks. How cool is that? I was stationed at 1-66 Armored Regiment, 2nd Armored Division, Ft Hood, TX from 1986 to 1989, Florida National Guard for a short time, and then served in the Texas National Guard, 49th Armored Division from 1990 to 1994. I saw a lot of crazy things and made some lifelong friends along the way. I also didn’t neglect my education and got an AAS in Computer Science from Central Texas College in 1993. While still in the military I met the love of my life, Barbara, and we tied the knot in 1993. We moved to Jacksonville, Florida and both landed jobs at Barnett Bank. I’ve been working for and/or supporting the Bank ever since, through all of its various mergers and acquisitions. After going through several IT outsourcing deals, I currently work for Black Box Network Services and keep the Bank’s network running smoothly. When I’m not working, I like to hop on my Harley-Davidson Softail Deluxe and cruise around town. I also have a hobby of collecting military firearms from all the US wars since WWI. I have decent collection and I love to learn about their history and mechanics. I’m also a big animal lover and have had several dogs and cats over the years but our nest is currently empty.
